Arjuna's Vision: The Eye of the Bird
The young princes stood in a line, bows drawn, waiting for Dronacharya’s command. High in the branches of a distant peepal tree sat a wooden bird.
"Yudhishthira," Drona called, "tell me what you see." Yudhishthira smiled. "I see the bird, the leaves, the trunk, and my brothers." Drona shook his head. "Step aside." One by one, the other princes stepped up, describing the sky, the tree, the wind. Each was turned away.
Finally, Arjuna stepped forward. Drona asked the same question. Arjuna pulled back his bowstring. "I see only the eye of the bird." Drona pressed: "Do you not see the tree, or myself?" Arjuna replied: "I see nothing but the eye."
💡 The Morning Lesson:
In our hyper-connected world, the bird is your daily priority, and the branches are notifications, emails, and reels. If you look at the branches, you will miss the target. Train your eye to see only the eye of the bird.
